But the ultimate strategy is Operation Pull Through, by the artists and labels working with their street teams to bring physical product to the brick-and-mortar level. Once aboard our MOD program, in order to sell at scale, it takes continuous marketing efforts per title. 
In the music industry, a pull-through strategy refers to the process of generating consumer demand at the retail level (the "pull") so that stores are compelled to stock and restock an artist's product. When applied to touring, artists use their live presence to drive fans into local record shops, ensuring the stores see the immediate financial benefit of carrying the artist's CDs or vinyl. 

Core Strategies for Pull-Through on Tour

  • In-Store Performances & Signings: Artists schedule "in-stores" at local record shops on the day of their concert. Fans must often purchase the new album from the store to gain entry or get an item signed, creating a direct "pull" of inventory.
  • Consignment with a Tour Twist: We provide both solutions, depending on the artists capability to deliver on each platform, from consigning artists own product to shops along tour routes, to "selling" CD units to corporate buyers/stores, as well as providing to all major online outlets. We help orchestrate this when the artist does the work behind it, including any in-store performance visits. 

  • Show Posters & Local Promo: Artists provide stores with show posters that feature the store's name as a local ticket or music outlet. This builds a reciprocal relationship where the store promotes the gig in exchange for being the "official" distributors stockist (locally and nationally). This is one of the only artist supplies in demand factors when utilizing our recommended (MOD) service, along with coinciding Press Release with tour date information.
